One Couple's Story

He had been retired for just a couple years and was still in good health. Regularly playing golf, bowling with the boys and volunteering down at the food shelf on a weekly basis kept him busy and productive in life. The man and his wife were soon to leave on a long planned extended vacation visiting old friends, seeing new sights and enjoying this retired time of life.

Sadly, life doesn’t always work the way we think it should, the day before they were to leave on vacation the man suddenly took ill and within one day passed on from this life. His poor wife was too shocked and stunned to really know what to do. What do I do now was her overwhelming thought? The body, the funeral, the notifications, planning, cemetery plots, the finances all these items and more filled her grief stricken body to the point of hardly being able to function. On top of this all she had no indication from her now deceased beloved husband to what he thought about the end of life concerns. They figured they had many years to make these sorts of decisions, yet many people and couples never get around to thinking through or even discussing end of life planning. Everything was upon her shoulders and at this the time of her greatest grief.

imageWhat a difference preplanning could have made for them and in fact everyone who take the time to plan for the end of life. We plan for marriage, we plan for children, we plan for our job, and we plan for our retirement. It makes sense to also plan for our end of life issues. The most effective means to do this is Pre-Need planning and insurance.
